``In the first half defensively we were very active, got hands up on their jump shots and we shared the basketball."
``In the second half we tried to play the same way, but to be honest with you, they just seemed to knock every shot down."
``In the fourth quarter, our kids refused to lose. They made the plays when they had to."
``We went to a 1-2-2 press because we had to play with some urgency. We had to make the plays. Picking off the cross-court-lob-pass was a big play."
``On Prairie Central's final play, everybody knew McGuire was going to the basket. We wanted to prevent him from kicking it off. Endress was able to slide into the lane, he's been our leading block man, he's had 27 or 28 this year, and McGuire just barreled into him."

``It was a tough ballgame for us in the respect that we dug ourselves a big hole in the first half. I don't think it was through any lack of effort by our team. I think it was more just the fact that they kind of physically dominated us for a while. Their shots were falling and they got themselves on an emotional roll. We kind of thought different things and we didn't think their 1-3-1 would give us as much problems as it did. It kind of slowed us down a little bit and we didn't shoot as well as we have been."
``In the second half, we figured the first three minutes would be critical. We knew it would be a long way to come, but we went after them and wore them down. We showed the true character this team has had all season. In the beginning of the year these kids wouldn't have been able to do this because they didn't have any leadership, but now after a year they have matured; they've grown up."
``Ninety-nine percent of our games this year, when we got to that point, where we had the lead and time was running out, we did not lose it. We hit the free throws, we took care of the ball, and we'd win it. In this ballgame we did not."
``Defensively in the third quarter we didn't have any choice. We had to throw some aggressiveness back at them. So, we came out in what we call a 2-1-2 trap half-court and tried to pick up our man, and tried to do a little better job on him. I think mixing those two combinations of defenses up had them running a little bit and we got some turnovers on some key plays. I think it loosened our kids up and our shots started to fall."
